Join us for an evening of spooky fun at the Murray Library, October 20th, 6:30 pm & 7:30 pm. Winners of the Murray Halloween Literary Competition will be sharing their Halloween-themed poems and short stories.
2018 Halloween Literary Competition
October 16th, students grades 3-12 attending Murray Schools or residing within Murray City, are invited to submit Halloween-themed poems and short stories. Winners are invited to read their stories at the Haunted Tales storytelling event.
All entries must be received in the Murray Parks Office by Tuesday, October 16 before 5 pm.
Entries may be dropped off or mailed to Murray Arts, 296 East Murray Park Avenue, Murray, Utah 84107
Entries must include the student's name, grade, school, and home phone number.
Entries must be typed or legibly written on an 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper. Length limited to 2 typewritten pages or 6-10 handwritten pages (depending on size of print). It should not take more than 4 minutes to read.
Judging will be based on creativity and grade level writing schools, for introduction, continuity, descriptive language, and conclusion.
Bonus points will be given for presentation such as title, grammar, and neatness.
Winners will also receive a free comp ticket to Missoula Children's Theatre production of Peter & Wendy on Saturday, November 17th at 1 or 4 pm.
