5900 South Improvements

5900 South Improvements

Project Update
Final work on the 5900 South Improvement project will begin on Monday, April 10. Crews will be working from Commerce Drive to State Street. We anticipate that this remaining work will be completed by the end of spring.

Current Work
The following activities will take place over the next week:

Landscaping

  • Crews will begin landscaping repairs on Monday, April 10. In addition to installing landscaping, crews will test any sprinkler repairs completed last winter to ensure the systems are fully functional.
  • If you have a concern or question regarding the landscaping work please contact our Public Involvement Team (see contact information below); the onsite crews are not authorized to address concerns in the field.

Concrete Work

  • Crews will begin the remaining concrete work later in the week. This work will include sidewalks, curb and gutter, pedestrian ramps, and driveway approaches. Any temporary asphalt placed last winter will be removed and replaced with concrete. During this work, there may be intermittent shoulder and lanes closures, with flaggers used as needed.
  • When installing the driveway approaches, residents on 5900 South may have access to their driveways restricted. Impacted residents will receive notification before these restrictions begin.

Side Street Construction

Work on the following side streets will also be completed this spring. A schedule and description of the impacts to residents and busnesses will be communicated later this month.

  • Statler Street
  • 350 West
  • Sagewood Drive
  • Kingston Way
  • 20 East

Curing Concrete

As a reminder, please do not walk or drive on concrete that is taped or coned off. This concrete is curing and needs time to reach full strength. Putting weight upon it before it reaches that strength could result in cracking.
