Park Strip Trees are Still Available

Keeping trees trimmed to provide a safe distance between power lines and branches is the chief function of Murray City Power's Forestry Division. However, crews also plant and maintain street trees, adding to the city's reputation as Utah's premier Tree City, USA; a designation bestowed upon Murray for 41 consecutive years by the National Arbor Day Foundation. Street trees are available to Murray citizens for $100 each, including planting and maintenance by the Forestry Division.

Customers may choose from several varieties selected for park strip conditions and hardiness:

  • Spring Snow Crab Apple
  • Hackberry
  • Frontier Elm
  • Ivory Silk Japanese Tree Lilac (limited quantity)

Supplies are limited, and trees must be ordered by May 1, 2018. For additional information, or to order a tree, call Murray City Power at 801-264-2729.
