BRETT A. HALES
Brett Hales Profile
Candidate Profile:

I'm Brett Hales and alongside my wife Cindy, we've raised our 5 kids in Murray and have called it home for 33 years. I retired as VP of Cyprus Credit Union and have served on the city council since 2012. I believe that it is important for local leaders to listen; and with the input of those I serve, Murray enjoys a budget surplus of over $10 million and the lowest property taxes in the state. With your support, this is the same approach I'll carry with me as your mayor.

ALEXANDER TEEMSMA
Alex Teemsma Profile
Candidate Profile:

Alexander moved to Utah to attend BYU, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. While living in Provo and working at a locally-owned retail store in the Historic Downtown District, he saw the impact local government has on business owners, families, and residents.

Alexander and his wife, Jenny, bought their first home in Murray. They feel a greater sense of community and with that has come a greater sense of accountability. Alexander’s efforts include pushing for legislation to regulate short-term rentals and working to start a non-profit for the purpose of fomenting commerce in Murray’s Historic Downtown.
