AFTER SCHOOL MUSICALS |
Murray City Cultural Arts offers each elementary school within the Murray City boundaries an opportunity to host an After School Musical (also know as a Youth Musical), typically every two/three years. If a school decides to host, auditions will be held at the school and open to designated grades (determined between the director and principal). |
After School Musicals will be offered to schools for the 2022-23 year. |
ARTS POWER |
Arts Power is a touring children's theater company who produce musical theater productions based on classic children's literature. Murray typically hosts one of their productions every other year for school children to attend. |

COTTON TALES |
Spring writing competition for student grades 3-12. Categories include short & long stories, poetry, and picture books (graphic novel, picture books, etc.). Winners are announced at the Cotton Tales Showcase, typically held in April. Writing prompts and creative tips & tricks provided on our website. |

HAUNTED TALES |
Fall writing competition for student grades 3-12. Categories include short & long stories, poetry, and picture books. Winners are announced at the Haunted Tales Showcase, typically held in October. Entries should be Halloween or spooky themed and will be judged on creativity and grade-level writing skills. Tips & videos provided on the website. |

MISSOULA CHILDREN'S THEATRE |
The Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) is a touring theatre company that provides a one-week experience for students to audition, learn acting skills, and put on a final performance of an original adaptation of a musical. Murray City Cultural Arts typically invites MCT every other year and opens the opportunity for student grades K-12 attending public/charter schools within Murray City boundaries or Murray residents. |

SECONDARY ART SHOW |
Murray City Cultural Arts holds an annual exhibition of art created by Secondary Students either residing or attending schools within Murray City boundaries. Competition is generally held first week of May at Fashion Place Mall. Divisions include Junior High grades 7-9 and High School grades 10-12. |

STORYTELLING RESIDENCY |
Storytelling Residencies are a great opportunity & fun way for children, teens, and adults to develop story writing and storytelling skills. Residencies are offered to each school within the Murray boundaries and can be held in the classroom during school hours or after school hours. Principals have the choice to host a residency. Typically, one residency is offered on a Saturday at the Murray Library for students who attend a school that is not hosting their own residency. Participants of each residency will be evaluated by the Storyteller Professional, who will invite a select few to present at the Storytelling Showcase. Finalists from the Showcase are then invited to participate in the Annual Country event, Story Crossroads, held in May. |
