Vine Street Improvement Project Upcoming Road Closure – November 1, 2019


The morning of Sunday, November 3rd, the 1300 East intersection at Vine Street will be closed to thru-traffic to accommodate roadway paving. All thru-traffic will be restricted through mid-day. Right-hand turns from northbound 1300 East to eastbound Vine Street will also be restricted. Please plan for extra travel time through the area or find alternative routes via 900 East, 5600 South, and 6600 South.

Reduced Speed, One-Way Flagging & Noise

  • The speed limit in the work zone has been reduced to 20 MPH for the entirety of the project.
  • One-way flagging will be in effect on Vine Street between 900 East and 1300 East through the summer. This will be in effect most weeks Monday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please plan for extra travel time when driving through the area or use alternate routes.
  • During daytime hours, residents and businesses may experience increased noise and dust while construction is underway.
  • Pedestrians and cyclists are encouraged to use alternative routes while construction is in progress.


Project Overview

Murray City is constructing improvements on Vine Street from 900 East to 1300 East. Improvements include roadway shoulders, continuous sidewalks, bike lanes, a center turn lane and a more uniform corridor.

Work will occur Monday through Saturday during daytime hours. Construction is expected to last through Fall 2019. Residents and businesses should expect reduced speed limits, dust, noise, vibrations, sidewalk closures, temporary driveway restrictions, lane shifting and narrowing, and occasional one-way flagging.
