1. My garbage can/recycle can was not emptied today. What do I do?

2. How do I sign up for a dumpster (either green waste or neighborhood roll-off)?

Please contact Murray City Public Works at 270-2440. The reservation can be done over the phone if you can make payment either by credit card. If making payment by cash or check, please visit us at the Public Works offices, 4646 South 500 West, Monday thru Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

3. How do I get rid of my hazardous waste?

Murray City can accept antifreeze, batteries (household or car), oil or paint from residential use ONLY. These items can be dropped off at the Public Services offices, Monday thru Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. 4. My garbage pick up day falls on a holiday. When will it be picked up?

Regular garbage pick up will not occur on the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s Day. If your pick up day falls on one of those holidays, your garbage will be picked up the following day.

5. In a cul-de-sac, where should I place the automated garbage and/or recycling containers?

Containers should be placed in a row in the center of the cul-de-sac parallel to the road entering the cul-de-sac.

6. How can I get wood chips provided by Murray City?

Chips are free and available as long as we have them in stock. They may be picked up on Friday afternoons between the hours of 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Please call 270-2440 for information on availability. Murray City offers wood chips to its residents from grinding the yard waste that is brought in through our Greenwaste Dumpster program only.
