The City Center Form-Based Code (CC-FBC), which has replaced the Murray City Center District (MCCD), is envisioned as the commercial, civic, and cultural center of the community. The zoning regulations and proposed design guidelines of the CC-FBC are intended to promote opportunities for compact, pedestrian-oriented, sustainable redevelopment in the downtown area. The CC-FBC should be a true downtown; a rich and lively mixed-use center with design elements that focus on the pedestrian experience and the streetscape. It should provide opportunities for residential development, neighborhood-oriented businesses, restaurants, and civic and cultural spaces.
A five-member committee reviews applications and provides recommendations to the Planning Commission regarding new construction and major alterations to the exterior of buildings in the CC-FBC.
