File a Non-Emergency Police Report Online
Online reports are intended for non-emergency offenses that do not require a police officer to respond to the scene. Not all incidents may be reported online.
- To file a report online, you must be over 17 years old and have a valid email address.
- If you need a language other than English, click ENGLISH in the top right corner of the online reporting page. Select your preferred language from the list of languages. Please write your report in your preferred language.
- Only certain offenses can be reported online. Carefully read the information in the online reporting system to be sure you can file a report online.
Call 9-1-1 if:
- There is immediate danger to people or property.
- A crime is happening right now.
- The suspect is still on scene.
You cannot file an online report for:
- Death investigations
- Crimes that are in progress
- Theft of a vehicle or license plate
- Sexual offenses
- Crimes against children (victim is under 18)
- Theft or loss of a firearm
- Missing or overdue persons
- Any vehicle collision resulting in serious injury or property damage
- Any damage or incident related to Murray City property.
- Any report or delayed report of serious physical injury
- Any report or delayed report of actual or threatened violence in a school.
- Any report or delayed report of actual or threatened violence in a workplace.
You can file an online report for:
- Assault (excluding domestic violence)
- Burglary
- Child Custody Court Order Violation (for documentation only)
- Fraud, Financial Crimes, and Identity Theft
- Harassment
- Hit and Run
- Not Paying for Services Rendered
- Theft, Shoplifting and Lost Property (with a value under $5,000)
- Threats (not involving schools or large gatherings)
- Trespassing
- Vandalism
- Vehicle Burglary
After the Report is Submitted
- After completing your report, it will be forwarded to the through the approval process with Murray City Police. You will also receive a temporary case number for your records.
- You may be notified by email if any further information is needed prior to your report being approved.
- Upon approval of your submission, you will receive an email advising that your approved report has been issued an official case number.
Supplemental Reports
Follow-up reports are also accepted online. Simply use the link on the on the initial webpage for additional information to be added. The system will link your follow-up to the original through your case number. Digital evidence such as photos, videos or documents may be added to online reports.
