Hydrant Meters
Hydrant meters are available within Murray City to both contractors and residents. In order to obtain a hydrant meter customers will need to provide Murray City with proper payment, as well as information pertinent to the hydrant meter rental.
Murray City DOES NOT allow the use of privately owned hydrant meters, or hydrant meters from outside entities to be placed on Murray City fire hydrants.
- A check for $1,450.00, the check must be made out to Murray City Corporation.
- Customers will need to provide a completed copy of the Hydrant Meter Rental Agreement; this form may be printed off and brought to the Murray City Public Works office prior to arrival or filled out at our office.
- An address of the work site or nearest hydrant to the job site.
- Hydrant meters MAY NOT have hoses or equipment crossing roadways.
Hydrant meters may only be placed on Murray City fire hydrants. For use of a private fire hydrant Murray City Water MUST be provided with a written and signed letter from the owner of the private hydrant allowing the renter permission and access.
Once customers have all necessary information. Please come to the Murray City Public Works office, located at 4646 South 500 West, Murray, Utah, 84123. Once a hydrant meter has been allocated and reserved, please allow Murray City Water personnel 24-28 hours to place the hydrant meter at the set location.
After the hydrant meter has been placed, ONLY Murray City Water Personnel is allowed to relocate or remove the hydrant meter from the assigned fire hydrant. For questions, or to move the hydrant meter please contact the Murray City Public Works office, (801) 270-2440.
