Van Winkel Annexation - Effective July 1, 2025

Annexation Background

On December 3, 2024, the Murray City Council adopted Ordinance 24-32, officially annexing real property located between approximately Van Winkle Expressway to 900 East and 4800 South to the Boundary of Murray City at 4840-4890 South.

A majority of the property owners in this area signed a petition, accompanied by an accurate plat prepared by a licensed surveyor, to the City Recorder. The petition, representing more than one-third (1/3) of the property's assessed value, met all requirements under Sections 10-2-403(2), (3), and (4) of the Utah Code. After a thorough review and certification process, including notifications to affected entities, no protests were filed, and the annexation was successfully completed.

Effective Date of Annexation

Per State Code § 10-2-425, the effective date of the annexation will be July 1, 2025.
